europascal is one of the market leaders in calibration technology and offers specialized solutions for pressure, electrical measurements, temperature, humidity, and gas mass flow. Our highly accredited calibration laboratories guarantee precise and reliable calibrations of the highest standard. In the field of pressure in particular, we have one of the world’s leading accredited laboratories, covering measuring ranges from 1 pascal to 10,000 bar.
In addition, we offer accredited calibrations for temperature and electrical measurements, enabling us to calibrate pressure, temperature, and electrical measurements as well as combination devices entirely in-house. This manufacturer-independent expertise is complemented by our comprehensive service, which includes maintenance and repair as well as practical and theoretical training for your employees.
As a partner to renowned manufacturers of measurement and calibration technology and as a manufacturer of our own calibration devices, we always offer tailor-made solutions that are optimally tailored to your requirements. Our Roots
europascal GmbH was founded on July 1, 2000, in Hainburg. Kassem El-Chami as managing director and four experienced and competent employees, who had made a name for themselves in the measurement technology market, formed the founding team.
Just five weeks after the company was founded, the europascal laboratory DKD-K-30101 was accredited by the German Calibration Service (DKD) under the supervision of the “Physikalisch-Technische-Bundesanstalt (PTB) in Braunschweig” for the measurement parameter of pressure. Due to the company’s steady growth in the sale of calibration systems and equipment as well as calibration services, the available space in Hainburg was no longer sufficient in April 2010, so new and larger premises were relocated to Hanau. This was followed by accreditation for electrical quantities in March 2016 and for thermodynamic measurement variables in March 2020.
In July 2021, we celebrated our 21st anniversary. To mark the occasion, Firas El-Chami took over the management of the company, continuing the business into its second generation.

Accreditations
europascal GmbH has developed its accreditations step by step in line with both technical progress and regulatory changes in the German calibration landscape. Over time, the company has expanded the scope of its accredited services from an initial focus on pressure calibration to a broad portfolio that now also includes temperature and electrical quantities under DAkkS accreditation.
Early accreditation phase
In the early years, europascal concentrated on building recognized competence in pressure calibration, obtaining the right to calibrate pressure gauges of all types, from sensors to piston gauges, over a wide pressure range. At the beginning of 2005, this capability was formally recognized through accreditation according to ISO 17025, which laid the foundation for a quality‑assured calibration laboratory.
Transition in the German system
At the start of 2010, the German accreditation system underwent a major restructuring as the traditional German Calibration Service (DKD) was transformed into the German Accreditation Service (DAkkS). europascal aligned its processes with this new framework, ensuring that existing DKD-based competencies were transferred into the DAkkS system without interruption for its customers.
Expansion of DAkkS scope
In the following years, europascal systematically widened the scope of its DAkkS-accredited services beyond its original pressure focus. Today, the calibration laboratory is accredited by DAkkS for absolute and gauge pressures up to 10,000 bar as well as for a comprehensive range of electrical and temperature quantities.
Accreditation in practical operation
Accreditation now underpins almost every aspect of europascal’s laboratory activities, from the use of high‑end reference standards to documentation in DAkkS‑compliant calibration certificates. Customers benefit from traceable, internationally recognized measurement results, supported by europascal’s participation in professional networks such as the DKD Association.
Expansion into electrical and thermodynamic quantities
Further diversification followed on 15 February 2018 with the expansion of the electrical laboratory to include capacitance, electrical power and power factor, alongside extended measuring ranges for both pressure and electrical quantities. On 31 March 2020, europascal enlarged its DAkkS laboratory to cover thermodynamic parameters, adding another important building block to its metrological portfolio in accordance with the respective accreditation certificate dated that day.
Modernization under ISO/IEC 17025:2018
On 30 November 2020, europascal obtained advanced accreditation in accordance with DIN IEC ISO 17025:2018, reflecting the updated international standard for competence of testing and calibration laboratories. This step ensured that the company’s processes, documentation and risk-based thinking were aligned with current global best practice in laboratory management and quality assurance.
High-pressure capability and temperature expansion
A key technical milestone was reached on 10 March 2021, when the DAkkS laboratory accreditation for pressure was extended up to 10,000 bar, significantly enhancing the company’s ability to support high-pressure applications. On 7 September 2023, the accreditation D-K-15055-01-00 was extended to D-K-15055-01-02, with better measurement uncertainties in many ranges and an expansion to include radiation thermometers, temperature sources and climatic chambers.
Latest certificate extension
Most recently, on 29 November 2024, the DAkkS certificate D-K-15055-01-00 and the annexes D-K-15055-01-01 (electrical measurands) and D-K-15055-01-02 (pressure and temperature measurands) were extended, confirming the continued validity and enlarged scope of europascal’s accredited services. These extensions underline the company’s strategy of continuously refining its measurement capabilities and uncertainties to meet evolving industrial and regulatory demands.
Current status and outlook
Today, europascal is regarded as one of Germany’s market leaders in calibration technology, with accreditation forming a central pillar of this position. The company continues to refine and extend its accredited scope, using accreditation requirements as a driver for continuous improvement and for the development of new calibration services for industry.
